Frequently Asked Questions
What is polymer clay?
It is a man-made modelling clay made from plastic that is durable, pliable and versatile. Once baked in the oven it becomes hard yet flexible and retains both colour and shape. In a bid to reduce plastic waste, I endeavour to use up ALL clay scraps in future projects or to create a new colour mix.
What earring findings do you use?
All studs, posts, hooks, hoops, metal ball studs, and jump rings that I source are made from hypoallergenic stainless steel. Unfortunately if you have a nickel allergy you may have a reaction to stainless steel generally.
How can I care for my polymer clay earrings?
Please treat your polymer clay earrings lovingly as they are not indestructible. We advise that you:
avoid dropping, throwing or bending them
avoid contact with chemicals (perfumes, hairspray, deodorant, makeup, moisturiser)
take them off before swimming or showering
avoid giving them to children as a toy
store them in a dry and cool area or on an earring holder as they can be scratched easily
wipe them gently with a soft fabric that has been moistened with a little bit of water
Can you fulfil personalised orders?

Returns & exchange policy
Unfortunately due to hygiene reasons I am unable to accept returns or organise an exchange for change of mind.
Damaged or faulty goods
If you believe you have received faulty goods or there is unexpected breakage in the first 12 months, please contact me with attached photos so I can resolve your problem immediately.
Any damage as a result of not adhering to the care instructions above will not be considered Joy Craft Lab’s responsibility.
Why are my earrings not exactly the same as pictured on your website?
Every single pair of earrings is handmade which means there will be some variation; occasionally the pattern will not be exactly the same as pictured. Keep in mind that screen brightness on different displays may vary from screen to screen.
How can I learn to make my own polymer clay earrings?
There are multiple online clay and earring stores where you can buy starter kits from.
The best way in my experience is to attend an in-person class with hands-on learning. Check out @four_little_rosebuds if you’re in Sydney!
